but for real tho, the way file systems work is to manage what exists on the drive. when you delete files, it's just some swipe of knowledge that it's gone. the actual physical bytes that make up that data are still there in the hard drive. when you make new files, they just overwrite them. if you don't want software genius's to be able to raid your computer and recover all the cia information you deleted, then you wipe the drive. which literally is a long ass process if you have a 4tb hard drive, takes like 8 hours. (literally, imagine copying 4tb of data. that's the equivalent. just filling 0's all the way. takes time to physically change)

additionally, System Volume Information has attributes HS… (+hidden +system)
