If a nearby factory is dealing with chemicals, a map app has been created that tells you in real time what substances are being handled and where to evacuate if a chemical leak occurs. It was made in Gunsan City, Jeollabuk-do. Citizens seem to think that they can become a little safer. Reporter Lee Soo-jin covered it.

Hydrogen chloride leaked from the plant in 2015, and 16 residents were hospitalized and 80,000 hectares of farmland were damaged. Three years later in this plant, a large and small chemical leakage accident followed, with toxic substances spilling out again. The chemical substance management map app made by Gunsan City, Jeollabuk-do. It informs the status of 96 business sites in Gunsan that handle hazardous chemicals, and when a chemical accident occurs, the situation is immediately communicated to app users. It also analyzes the user’s location, weather and wind direction at the time, and guides you to the nearest evacuation site.
